Getting Ready for a Wedding Part 2: DIY skincare with Olive Oil

Racing towards the due date of a wedding?
Need immediate skin action?
Skeptical about buying new skin care goodies?
Unaware of your allergies?

Fret not my friend, I introduce to you my trusted friend Ms.OLIVE OIL.

Now miss olive oil is the mother of all ingredients which can be used in almost all DIY skin care recipes. Today I'm going to share with you my DIY skin care recipes using Olive Oil. So this post is going to contain DIY for:
1. Eye Makeup Remover
2. Facial moisturizer
3. Under-eye cream
4. Face scrub
5. Skin Toner

Lets start with the Eye Makeup Remover, shall we? Its the easiest to do and doesn't need much work.
1. You may use Olive Oil alone as an eye makeup remover.
2. For added goodness, cut open a few capsules of Fish Oil/Vit E and add it to olive oil.
3. Store it in a clean container (you don't need to store it in the refrigerator)
4. Use it with a cotton ball; to reduce wastage, soak the cotton ball in water, squeeze the water out and then dab some olive oil on cotton :)
You may add Johnson's baby oil as per your liking-me thinks it has a very nice fragrance :P

The second easiest product would be the facial moisturizer.
1. Take a clean, empty bottle
2. Pour 1/3rd quantity by volume olive oil
3. Fill the remaining 2/3rd quantity by volume with Rose Water.
4. You will find that the two don't quite mix. I store it in a spray bottle and shake well before each use.
If you have oily skin like me, you don't need to worry, because Olive Oil is non-comedogenic  and does not clog pores. It is highly moisturizing.

Moving on to the Skin Toner
1. This one does not use Olive Oil
2. You need Apple Cider Vinegar
3. Pour Apple Cider Vinegar and Rose water in equal parts in a clean, empty bottle. If you have oily skin, use more Apple Cider Vinegar, if you have dry to normal skin, just pour them in equal parts.
4. If you don't have rose water, you may use water or even use green tea :)

Facial Scrub, the DIY with facial scrub is widely used and can be used not only for your face but also for your lips and it is highly moisturizing especially in dry winter season. I use it in the night, 2 times a week after returning from the gym!
1. Take a clean empty container
2. Add 4-5 spoons of granulated sugar
3. Add 2-3 spoons of Honey
4. Pour in olive oil to the mixture. start by pouring in a few drops and keep stirring. Once you get the right consistency you will know when you look at it!

Last, for the under-eye cream
1. Take a clean empty container
2. Cut some Vit E./Fish oil capsules and pour the content in the container
3. Add a few drops of Rose water
4. Add some drops of Olive Oil and Johnson's Baby Oil
Mix the contents well and freeze it, In the summers the mixture might not freeze properly, but in winters it is fairly easy to freeze this mixture. Use it day and night.

Hope these tips were helpful for you. I turn to these natural remedies whenever I am in doubt. I have particularly left out lemon from most of these remedies cause I am allergic to lemon. But you may use it in the face toner, and under eye cream. The ingredients are all natural and easily available!
